Binghamton softball gains split in second day of NSU Dixie Classic

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Sophomore pitcher
Cyrilla Suker (Vooreheesville, N.Y.) pitched a complete-game victory, leading Binghamton to a split at the second day of the Norfolk State Dixie Classic. The Bearcats defeated Delaware 4-1 before losing to Cornell 3-2.

Suker allowed only an unearned run on three hits and struck out 10 batters. Offensively, senior outfielder
Sara Eppolito (Manlius, N.Y.) drove in a pair of runs and senior shortstop Emilie Palmcrantz (Leksand, Sweden) also recorded an RBI.

In the nightcap, senior catcher Sarah Ruben single home the winning run for Cornell with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. For Binghamton junior outfielder
Liz Sequeira (Lakewood, Calif) went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI while Palmcrantz went 2-for-4.

Binghamton has a 9 a.m. doubleheader on Sunday against Niagara in the final day of the Dixie Classic.
