NORFOLK, Va.-- Senior catcher
Mia Bieman (Wingham, Ontario) hit two home runs, including a grand slam, as Binghamton (2-9) gained a split against Niagara in the final day of the Norfolk State Dixie Classic. The Bearcats fell to the Purple Eagles 5-2 in the first game but came storming back with a 16-0, five inning win in the nightcap. The 16 runs is the most scored by Binghamton since it defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) 17-0 on March 13, 2004.

Bieman's grand slam, as well as her solo home run, both came in the second game. It was her first career grand slam, her first career multiple home run game and set her career high with five RBI.

On the mound, sophomore pitcher
Cyrilla Suker (Vooreheesville, N.Y.) tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out a season-high 12 batters. She won both her starts this past weekend, struck out 22 batters and did not allow an earned run.

Binghamton heads to the Ohio State Buckeye Invitational next weekend.
