raises $2,000 for breast cancer research
The Binghamton softball program took a break from running the bases to take a walk for breast cancer awareness earlier this month.
The softball team joined about 6,000 others at the 14th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Binghamton's Recreation Park earlier this month.
"The Making Strides Walk is a great event and it was fantastic to see so many people from the community out supporting the cause," head coach Michelle Burrell said. "The team raised a significant amount of money through online donations as well as a few offline contributions. We are looking forward to making this an annual event for our softball team."
The softball team raised $2,000 for breast cancer research and the event as a whole raised more than $245,000.
