Throughout the 2009 season, Binghamton softball players will be featured in up-close player profiles that will seek to provide in-depth information and insight that goes beyond the press releases and media guide.

My biggest athletic thrill: Hitting a homerun in my first official college softball game my freshman year.

What is your favorite part about your sport: My favorite part about softball is the adrenaline rush I get every time I do something that helps my team.

The reason why I wear my jersey number: Number 10 is the best number to have on a jersey!

My first memory of softball: My dad being my coach and teaching me how to play, we would run to the park to practice everyday.

Most memorable BU moment: Traveling to Texas and playing at UTEP.

Favorite professional athlete: Derek Jeter.

My best non-athletic talent: Sports are all I know…

Pre-game rituals: We do a chant as a team that get us pumped before every game.

Favorite sports movie: The Sandlot/ Blue Crush

Nickname: Shanners

Growing up I pretended I was: The little mermaid when I was really young because I loved to swim.

Best sporting event ever attended: Game 5 of the 2003 World Series - Marlins vs. Yankees.

What do you see yourself doing after Binghamton: working with children.

Who had the greatest impact on my life: My family has always supported me in everything I have done; they have hands down had the greatest impact on my life.

Most people don't know this about me but: I love to skim board!

Talent I'd most like to have: I would love to be a great writer.
