Plemon named America East Softball Rookie of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Freshman catcher Deannie Plemon (Irvine, Calif.) has been named the America East Softball Rookie of the Week. It marks the first time in her career that she has earned a weekly accolade from the conference.

Plemon hit .343 (6-for-17) last weekend, driving in three runs against Georgetown on Friday and a career-high four runs against UC-Riverside on Sunday. The freshman, who had a pair of multiple hit games, has started all eight games for the Bearcats this season.

"Deannie had a lot of clutch, timely hits for us," head coach Ali Brian said. "She also did a great job behind the plate. She is off to a very solid start this season."

Binghamton is off until the College of Charleston Invitational March 14-16.
