Release: March 28, 2009 Alyssa Struzenberg threw the complete-game shutout for Stony Brook in the first game, striking out nine batters to move to 8-1 on the season. Kendall Blumenthal was 3-for-3 with three RBI for Stony Brook and teammate Cerrone hit two home runs. Senior Michelle Olivieri was 3-for-3 for Binghamton. Binghamton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second game when sophomore Deannie Plemon drove in two-runs on a double to center field. But it was all Stony Brook from that point on as the Seawolves cruised to a 13-2 five-inning win. Kelly Oberto and Vicki Kavitsky were each 3-for-4 with four RBI for Stony Brook. Binghamton and Stony Brook will meet again tomorrow at noon to complete the weekend series. |
