Box Score

VESTAL, N.Y.--Junior middle blocker Anne Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) had nine kills and posted 11 total blocks (four solo, seven assisted) while junior outside hitter Michele Heck (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) nailed a team-high 11 kills, leading Binghamton (15-13, 5-7 AE) to a 30-21, 30-26, 30-26 win over visiting Maine (13-19, 4-8 AE) in an America East volleyball match on Saturday at East Gym. The win snaps the Bearcats' three-match losing skid.

"The key to the match today was our blocking," head coach Glenn Kiriyama. "That made the difference and was a big reason we were able to win so quickly."

Freshman setter Ashley Meffert (Louisville, Ky./Fern Creek) dished match-high 36 assists freshman middle hitter Megan Hoag (Brunswick, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) finished with nine kills and eight digs. Also posting eight digs was senior defensive specialist Nicole Savin (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue).

Maine was led by sophomore middle blocker Leah Guidinger, who had a match-high 13 kills.

Binghamton hosts Siena on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in its final home match of the year.
