Lammert and McDonough receive volleyball academic honor

Conference release

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. -- Junior middle Dawn Lammert and sophomore outside hitter Michelle McDonough were two of seven student-athletes to be named to the America East all-academic squad. The team is voted on by a committee of sports information directors, academic advisors and faculty representatives from each of the nine America East schools. To be considered the student must have a minimum of a 3.30 cumulative GPA.

In addition to the honor, Lammert also claimed the top GPA of any member of the squad, earning a 3.90 in biological sciences. On the court this season, Lammert led the America East in blocks per set.

McDonough, who was also an all-conference first team selection, is a human development major with a 3.30 GPA. She ranked second in the conference in kills per set and her season total of 385 kills is the fourth highest Division I single season total at BU.

Lammert and McDonough helped lead the Bearcats to a second place finish at the America East tournament, after posting a 9-3 conference mark during the year.
