Lammert and McDonough named to AE Volleyball All-Academic Team

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Senior middle blocker Dawn Lammert and junior outside hitter Michelle McDonough have been named to the America East Volleyball All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Thursday.

"I continue to be impressed by how both Dawn and Michelle balance athletics and academics," head coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "They both excel on and off the court and are a great example to the rest of our squad."

Lammert and McDonough were both also named to the all-academic team in 2008 and Lammert has once again posted the highest GPA of any member of the team (3.94).

In addition to the conference honor, Lammert was also named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-District 1 Academic First Team earlier this season.

McDonough was named to the all-conference first team and also to the AE all-tournament team.

These two student-athletes helped Binghamton capture the America East Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2009.
