Cambridge, Mass. -- Junior setter Lindsey Mueller was chosen as the America East Setter of the Week on Monday by the conference office. This is the third time this season Mueller has been named top setter and it is her program-record eighth career weekly conference honor.
The Bearcats faced a must-win match this weekend in order to qualify for the championship, and Mueller quarterbacked the team to a 3-0 sweep of Hartford. The junior setter recorded 37 assists, eight digs, one kill and one block in the win and helped Binghamton to a .375 hitting percentage.
Earlier in the week against Syracuse, Mueller amassed 31 assists, five digs, two blocks and two kills. She finished with averages of 11.33 assists, 2.17 digs, 0.50 kills and 0.50 blocks per set with one ace and a .500 hitting percentage on the week.
Mueller enters the postseason ranked second in the conference in overall assists per set (10.05).
The Bearcats have earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming America East Tournament and will play No. 2 New Hampshire in Albany at 3 p.m. on Friday in the semifinals. This is the sixth-straight season the Bearcats have advanced to the four-team conference tournament.
