BU volleyball will carry No. 2 seed into America East tournament

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton University volleyball team will carry the No. 2 seed into the America East tournament, which begins Friday November 18 on the campus of Albany. The Bearcats (17-11, 9-2 AE) will face No. 3 seeded Maine (10-12, 7-4 AE) in the day's second semifinal at 8 p.m. at University Gymnasium. Fourth-seeded Stony Brook (11-16, 5-6) will square off against No. 1 Albany (25-3, 10-1 AE) in the 5:30 p.m. match.

With a semifinal win, BU would advance to the championship match on Saturday at 5 p.m. with the winner of the first semifinal match.

The Bearcats currently have a 9-2 conference record with one match left to play. On Sunday Binghamton hosts UMBC at 1 p.m. Last season the Bearcats finished the regular season with a 7-7 conference record.

The Albany is the defending conference champions, having defeated Maine 3-2 last season to win the title. Last season the Bearcats, as the fourth-seed made their first-ever appearance in the America East Volleyball Tournament, losing 3-0 to eventual champion Albany.

Game 2: No. 3 Maine vs. No. 2 Binghamton, 8 p.m.

Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2, 5 p.m.
