For
Immediate Release: October 30, 2006 Binghamton's hitters were held in check for much of the evening, managing only a .061 attack percentage. Albany also dominated action at the net, outblocking the Bearcats by a sizeable 12-4 margin. Junior middle blocker Jacki Kane (Centennial, Colo.) led the Bearcat women with a team-high eight kills while senior middle blocker Megan Hoag (Brunswick, Ohio) added six kills and a match-high 19 digs and sophomore libero Jaclyn Strader (Kettering, Ohio) kicked in 14 digs in the lossing effort. Albany
broke open a 16-16 tie in the first game on the strength of a
decisive 12-3 spurt to take the opener. The Great Dane momentum
continued in game two, as the hosts led from the nset in a dominating
30-17 victory. Binghamton would pick up its play in the third
frame, however, with the game tied, 26-26, Albany scored three
straight points to stake claim 30-27 match-clinching win. Binghamton
is back in action on Friday evening as they host SUNY rival Stony
Brook in the Bearcats' regular season home finale at 7:00 pm.
