Binghamton volleyball loses to Bowling Green 3-0
Trio of sophomores shine for slumping Bearcats

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - Bowling Green (10-2) knocked off Binghamton (3-9) 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) in each of the teams opening match at the Bowling Green/Best Western Invitational on Friday night.

The Bearcats has lost six matches in a row and nine of their last 10.

"We played well at times," head coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "We played them close throughout most of the game but let them pull away at the end. We made way too many hitting errors and our unforced errors gave them too many points."

Sophomore Lindsey Mueller recorded her fifth double-double of the season, dishing out 31 assists and coming up with a team-high 13 digs. Classmate Michelle McDonough excelled for the Bearcats as well, posting 11 kills.

Second-year blocker Mercedes Montford continued to star defensively on the net for Binghamton, tallying five blocks for the third consecutive match.

Binghamton will be play two matches on Saturday, first facing off against Hofstra at 10 a.m. and then playing later in the afternoon against Rice at 4:30.
