Crocus named America East Player of the Week

Junior middle blocker Anne Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) has been named the America East Player of the Week, the conference announced on October 6. Crocus pounded 45 kills and had 16 blocks as the Bearcats won two of three matches at the Canisius Tournament over the weekend. Binghamton defeated St. Francis (Pa.) and Niagara after falling to Canisius. In the come-from-behind 3-2 win over Niagara, Crocus tallied a career-high 22 kills while making just two errors for a .588 attack percentage. She also had seven blocks in that match.
This season, Crocus leads the America East with a .370 attack percentage and 1.18 blocks per game. She also ranks fifth in kills per game with 3.60. In 15 matches this season, she has hit better than .300 11 times and has recorded at least 10 kills in all but two matches, including a pair of matches with better than 20 kills.
