Crocus named America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

America East Conference Release

BUFFALO, N.Y.--Senior middle blocker Anne Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) has been named the America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for August 31-Sept. 7 for the second time in her career. She earns the honor by virtue of her performance at the season-opening Western New York Tournament this past weekend.

In four matches this past weekend, Crocus averaged 4.43 kills and 1.93 blocks per game. Twice she had at least 20 kills, including a career-high 25 against Texas Arlington on Sunday, and against Niagara on Saturday, she posted a school-record 17 blocks. Her weekend concluded with a selection to the all-tournament team.

"Anne was the difference in the matches we won this weekend," head coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "She continues to improve each day at practice and is one of our hardest workers on the team."

Crocus was also the America East Conference Player of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5, 2003.

Binghamton (2-2) travels to the Villanova Wildcat Classic this coming weekend.
