VESTAL, N.Y. -- Bearcat middle blocker
Jacki Kane (Centennial, Colo.) was named the America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honors for September 30. The senior played a big part in Binghamton's pair of conference victories over the weekend against New Hampshire and Maine.

Kane was an imposing force at the net shutting down opponents over the weekend and leading the Bearcats to a 2-0 start in America East play. The six-foot-two Colorado native posted a 13-kill, 11-block performance in Friday's 3-2 victory over New Hampshire and added 11 kills and eight blocks in Sunday's win over Maine. On the weekend she had a team-high 2.11 blocks per game and averaged 2.67 kills per game at a .333 clip (24-6-54).

Kane leads all America East players with 92 total blocks, is second on the team in hitting percentage (.227) and fourth in kills (2.20) after 20 games this season.

Next up for Kane will be a Tuesday date with Patriot League opponent Colgate (8-7, 3-0 PL) before back-to-back conference games as the Bearcats hit the road to play Hartford on Friday, Oct. 5 and Stony Brook on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m and 1 p.m.
