Volleyball blanks Canisius to even 2007 record
Bearcats
win second straight match to move to .500

KENT, OHIO -- Sophomore Dawn Lammert (Sussex, Wisc.) posted a career-high
11 kills and a .500 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high
seven blocks to lead Binghamton University volleyball to a three-game
match win over Canisius Friday at the Kent State Invitational.
"It was a nice team effort," said ninth-year head coach
Glenn Kiriyama. "We were able to keep them off balance
with our serve and really keep the ball in play with our digs.
It was nice to see us put things together and deliver a very
effiecient all-around performance."
Senior captain Kathleen
Schauer
(Littleton, Colo.) contributed eight kills with only one error
on 18 attempts (.389) as the Bearcats downed the Golden Griffins
for the second time this season with set scores of 30-18, 30-20,
and 30-19. In all, six Bearcats recorded at least six kills and
three had double-digits in digs.
Binghamton
will take on host Kent State and Youngstown State in the conclusion
of the Kent State Invitational on Saturday.
Game Notes: Binghamton now leads the all-time series 6-3.
