McDonough named America East Player of the Week

VESTAL N.Y. -- Sophomore hitter
Michelle McDonough has been named the America East Player of the Week for the week ending October 12.

McDonough helped the Bearcats go 2-0 last week, defeating Maine and New Hampshire and has aided the Bearcats to a 4-0 conference start.

McDonough posted a 3.74 kills per set average while hitting at a .333 percentage (26-9-51) last week. She also averaged 1.86 digs per set and 1.00 blocks per set.

Against Maine, she put up a match-high 14 kills while hitting at a .440 clip (14-3-25) and also tallied four digs and five blocks.

She also added 12 kills and nine digs in the win over New Hampshire.

The sophomore also moved into the school's Division I top 10 list this week in career kills and has a two-year total of 488.

This is the McDonough's second AE weekly honor, earning a rookie of the week accolade last season. McDonough follows in the footsteps of classmate Anna Lejina, who was named player of the week just last week.
