Vestal, N.Y. -- Binghamton's junior setter Lindsey Mueller has been named to the Top Performer of the Week list by the Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU), a national volleyball publication. Mueller is one of 11 players nationwide to be honored this week by the CVU.
"Lindsey has been the most consistent performer for us all season," said head coach Glenn Kiriyama. "She has been a positive force with her creative playmaking, making the plays to get the hitters involved."
Mueller was also chosen as the America East Setter of the Week on Monday. This past weekend, Mueller paced Binghamton's offense with 12.40 assists per set and helped lead BU to a 3-0 record and the Binghamton Invite title.
She dished out 49 assists against Fairleigh Dickinson, 42 against Cornell and 33 in a sweep of Towson. She also added 10 digs against FDU and three blocks against both Cornell and FDU. Behind Mueller's setting, the Bearcats posted a conference-best .312 team hitting percentage.
Mueller is the second Bearcat to earn this distinction in the past two seasons, as classmate Michelle McDonough was named to the list in November of 2008.
Mueller is currently the conference leader in assists per set, with a 9.93 average.
Mueller and the Bearcats will be in action at the Army Tournament this coming weekend.
