The Bearcats were in range at the end of both the second and third sets but could not finish strong against the Big East-member Panthers.
Binghamton held a 21-20 advantage in the third set but let Pittsburgh close out the match on a 5-0 run.
Late in the second set the score was tied at 22-22, but Pittsburgh took the lead and finished on a 3-1 spurt.
"We didn't finish well, but we played hard and the girls looked really good at times," head coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "Hopefully these matches are preparing us for later down the line this season."
The Bearcats collected a season-high 45 digs in the match.
Sophomore setter Lindsey Mueller (West Bend, Wis.) posted her first double-double of the season via 12 digs 18 assists and senior libero Jaclyn Strader (Kettering, Ohio) chipped in 10 digs of her own.
