Team Recap

-Finished 16-15 overall, 9-3 in America East - No. 2 seed

-America East Tournament Runners-up

-Team defeated UMBC in AE semifinals before falling to No. 1 seed Albany in championship match

-Head coach Glenn Kiriyama named America East Coach of the Year

-Former Tennessee All-American Amy Morris joined Kiriyama on the sidelines for 2008 campaign

-Bearcats had a trio of sophomores named to the AE all-conference first team (Michelle McDonough, Lindsey Mueller and Anna Lejina)

-Binghamton placed Michelle McDonough and Dawn Lammert on AE all-academic team

-Team garnered one national team of the week honor and seven AE weekly awards

-Team had two players named to the AE all-tournament team and another five selections on in-season invitational all-tournament teams

-Posted a 6-2 home record in West Gym

-After starting season 4-11, team won 10 of next 11 matches from Sept. 28 to Nov. 7

-Named to Collegiate Volleyball Update's National Team of the Week on Nov. 4

-Two-time America East Player of the Week

-Selected to the NAU Invitational all-tournament team

-Led team and ranked second in conference in overall kills per set (3.56)

-Ranked second in conference matches in kills per set (3.93)

-Her season total of 385 kills was the fourth-highest Division I school history

-Her 3.56 kills per set average ranks third highest for a DI single season

-Ranked fourth on the team in digs per set (2.29)

-Ranked fourth on the team in blocks per set (0.69)

-Tallied 21 kills, 11 digs and five blocks in BU's AE semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

-Recorded a triple-double (12 kills, 11 digs, 10 blocks) against New Hampshire on Nov. 15

-Registered a career-high of 22 kills against UMBC on Nov. 7

-Surpassed 20 kills four times and recorded double-digit kill totals 21 times

-Ranked third in the conference in overall kills per set (3.53)

-Ranked first in conference matches in kills per set (4.10)

-Tied BU's Division I single match record with 29 kills vs. Maine on Nov. 14

-Had eight blocks against Hartford on Oct. 5

-Her 3.53 kills per set average was the fifth highest in school's DI era

-Surpassed 20 kills in two matches

-Tallied double-digit kills in 20 matches

-Started 29 of 31 matches for Binghamton

-Competed in first year for BU after transferring from the University of Latvia

Lindsey Mueller, Sophomore, Setter

-Named to the America East all-conference first team

-Named America East Setter of the Week three times

-Selected to the Pitt Classic all-tournament team

-Ranked second in conference in overall assists per set (10.23)

-Ranked first in conference matches in assists per set (10.93)

-Ranked second on the team in digs per set (2.41)

-Dished out 43 assists and grabbed 10 digs in BU's AE semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

-Surpassed 40 assists in 13 matches

-Dished out over 50 assists in two matches this season

-Started in all 31 matches for the Bearcats

Jaclyn Strader, Senior, Libero

-Became school's all-time leader in career digs (1,605)

-Ranked fourth in conference matches in digs per set (3.40)

-Led team in digs for the fourth straight year

-Had at least 10 digs in 18 matches

-Tallied a team season-best 19 digs on three separate occasions

-Led team in service aces per set (0.32)

-Accumulated four service aces in BU's AE semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

-Finished season ranked second in career service aces in school's DI era (151)

-Finishes career in second place for total Division I sets played (466)

Ashley Allen, Senior, Right Side

-Ranked third on the team in blocks per set (0.75)

-Ranked third on the team in kills per set (2.18)

-Selected to the UVA Tournament all-tourney team

-Amassed a career-high 17 kills vs. VCU on Sept. 13

-Totaled 12 kills and six blocks in BU's AE semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

-Finishes career ranked fourth in both career blocks (288) and career block assists (247)

-Ended four-year career in seventh place on BU's DI kills chart (757)

Dawn Lammert, Junior, Middle Blocker

-Named to America East all-academic team

-Had highest GPA of any member on all-academic team

-Led America East in blocks per set (1.07)

-Became seventh consecutive Bearcat to lead America East in blocking

-Ranked fourth on the team in kills per set (1.15)

-Tallied at least five blocks in 11 matches on the year

-Recorded a career-high 12 blocks against Hartford on Oct. 5

-Amassed a season-high 10 kills against Maine on Nov. 14

-Started 29 of 31 matches for Binghamton

-Finished junior season ranked fifth in DI career blocks (280) and block assists (255)

Brianna Strong, Junior, Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter

-Ranked third on the team in digs per set (2.33)

-Had 11 kills while hitting .450 against Akron on Aug. 30

-Tallied 18 digs against Syracuse on Sept. 9

-Scooped up 12 digs in BU's America East semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

Katie Thomas, Senior, Defensive Specialist

-Recorded a career-high 18 digs against Maine on Nov. 14

-Tallied three services aces on three separate occasions

-Ranked fifth on the team in digs per set (1.95)

-Grabbed nine digs in BU's AE semifinal win over UMBC on Nov. 21

-Scooped 12 digs in the America East championship game vs. Albany on Nov. 22

Mercedes Montford, Sophomore, Middle Blocker

-Ranked second on the team in blocks per set (0.86)

-Surpassed five blocks in five matches

-Tallied a career-high 11 kills against Cornell on Oct. 28

-Started 21 of 31 matches, including 20 of the last 22 of the season
