|Volleyball splits two matches at Robert Morris Classic|
Sophomore Anne Crocus led the way offensively, collecting 24 kills in the two matches. Crocus, who entered the night with an America East-leading 1.93 blocks per game, had eight more in the two matches and is now averaging 1.76 per game. Sophomore Jennifer Smith chipped in 22 kills, 18 digs and five aces for the day. Freshman Glorimar Ortega handed out 20 assists against Cornell, and 24 in the win over Providence.
Cornell defeated BU by the scores of 30-28, 27-30, 28-30, 28-30. The Bearcats shut out Providence, 30-17, 30-24, 30-23.
"The Cornell match was pretty close," coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "We played catch-up in the last three games, but couldn't quite get all the way back. Against Providence, we were able to use a lot of players."
Binghamton will take on the host Colonials and Howard in Saturday's tournament action.
