Finally a fall weekend with a Traditional Football game…Army vs. Ball State, this was only one of the many adventures of our preseason tournament at West Point. This was a momentous weekend with many highs and lows but an overall unforgettable trip. We lost our first match to Iowa on Friday. We were however, able to rebound and defeat Morgan State in three games.

Saturday was a fun packed day with no volleyball matches; it all started with a beautiful and scenic Hudson River Cruise including a history lesson of the Army Base. Immediately from the tour with our sandwiches in hand, we took a sweet ride in the back of a pick-up truck to the football game. With the wind in our hair we breathed in the excitement of the day. At the stadium we enjoyed the thrill and excitement of the football game while being surrounded by thousands of men in their uniforms (any girls dream). The firehouse mascots brought us to the center of the excitement where we found ourselves in the middle of the cadet section. While in the cadet section we could see our lovely assistant Coach Ref relaxing and taking a quick nap on the bleachers. After Army's victory, we took a trip to the shopping outlet center right across from our hotel. By the end of the day we were exhausted and ready for a good night of sleep before our match versus Army.

Despite the raging crowd (consisting of our Fantastic Fans at Army) the game was a heart-felt battle in which we lost in five games. We had many highs and lows throughout the match and while being upset with the loss, we planned on learning from our mistakes and preparing for a hard week of practice.

Go Bearcats!
