BU women's basketball loses 58-32 to American
Bearcats' three-game win streak comes to an end

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.-- Lisa Strack posted a game-high 18 points while Nicole Ryan added 15 points, leading American (8-4) to a 58-32 win over Binghamton (6-5) in the opening round of the Hawk Holiday Classic at the Multipurpose Activity Center Wednesday. The Eagles, who are favored to win the Patriot League, have now won six games in a row while the Bearcats' three-game unbeaten streak comes to an end.

American blew the game open in the first half, racing out to a 37-16 lead at the break. A 15-2 run in a span of 6:34 gave the Eagles a 28-12 advantage with 2:19 left in the first half. Strack netted five points during that span.

Binghamton got no closer than 20 points in the second half.

Junior guard Orla O'Reilly and senior guard Jackie Ward each scored seven points while junior point guard Andrea Holmes dished out six assists.

The Bearcats square off against host Monmouth in the final round of the Hawk Holiday Classic on Friday at noon.
