Binghamton women's basketball loses 79-56 at Boston University

BOSTON, Mass.-- Caitlyn Moran scored 21 points and Chantell Alford added 20 points, powering Boston University (12-10, 8-2 AE) to a 79-56 win over Binghamton (8-14, 4-5 AE) in an America East Conference women's basketball game on Wednesday night at Case Gym. The loss snapped the Bearcats' two-game winning streak.

Moran scored 12 of her points in the first half as the Terriers took a 36-25 lead at the break. The Terriers never trailed in the opening 20 minutes, scoring the first eight points of the game and racing out to a 20-7 lead with 11:09 left before halftime.

Binghamton was within 57-47 with just under eight minutes left in regulation but a 15-5 Terrier blitz put them up 72-52 with 5:39 left to go. Moran had five of her points during decisive the run of the game. Alford scored 13 of her points in the final 20 minutes.

For Binghamton, sophomore point guard Andrea Holmes netted a game-high 22 points, marking the fifth time this season and eighth time in her career that she has reached the 20-point mark in scoring. Sophomore guard Orla O'Reilly added 10 points.

Binghamton heads to Stony Brook for a 2 p.m. game on Saturday.
