Release: January 26, 2010 Contact: David O'Brian(sports@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Carter ranked nationally in a pair of women's basketball statistical categories NCAA Women's Basketball Statistics VESTAL, N.Y. -- Senior guard Erica Carter, who leads the Binghamton women's basketball team with 14.3 points per game, is ranked second among all Division I programs with 3.8 three-point field goals per game as well as sixth with a .478 three-point field goal percentage (75-of-175). In addition, the Bearcats as a team are ranked 14th among Division I teams with 7.7 three-point field goals per game. Carter became the 12th player in Binghamton program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career during the Bearcats' win at UMBC on Jan. 18. She is on track to finish with the highest BU single-season scoring average since Rachel Laws (14.7 ppg.) during the 2003-04 campaign. In her last four games, Carter has averaged 21.0 points per contest. Binghamton hosts Albany on Saturday at 2 p.m. |
