Sarah Cartmill, who concluded her stellar four-year career as 2002-03 America East Player of the Year, will now take her inside game overseas. Cartmill will play for St. Paul's Basketball Club in Killarney, Ireland. The season extends from late September through mid-March. "Right now I'm just excited to keep playing," she said. "I've always played basketball, and to play professionally, to play past college, is always something I wanted to do. It's not every day you get to keep playing the sport you love." Cartmill, 5-foot-10, finished her career as BU's No. 2 all-time scorer with 1,826 points. After leading the Bearcats to a 19-9 record and runner-up finish in the team's first year of America East play, Cartmill was selected as the conference Player of the Year. She is the second BU player to continue her playing career professionally, joining Bess Greenberg, who played for the Virum Basketball Club in Copenhagen, Denmark last season. Greenberg will play for another Copenhagen club in a higher division this season. |
