The Binghamton women’s basketball team has received an acceptance of a written offer of financial aid from Therese Deemand (Horsholm, Denmark), a 5-9 guard who is a member of the Under-20 team in her native country. She will join the Bearcats as a freshman this coming season. She recently graduated from Falkonergaarden Gymnasium.

Deemand is the second player from Europe to join Binghamton this year. Rebecka Lindgren (Oskarshamn, Sweden) signed an national letter of intent last spring and will also join the squad as a freshman.

“Therese is a very strong, physically skilled player," head coach Rich Conover said. "She brings great intensity to the court and gives us excellent depth in the backcourt."

NOTE: The correct pronunciation is Ter-RAZE-uh DEE-mande
