For Immediate Release: October 20, 2006 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Binghamton basketball teams to hold "BU Bearcats Hoop Fest" on Oct. 28 VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton University men's and women's basketball teams will take part in the first ever "BU Bearcats Hoop Fest" on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Events Center. The event starts at 9 a.m. as both the men's and women's teams will conduct their annual Junior Bearcats Basketball Clinic. The event is open to Junior Bearcat Members as well as non-members ages 12 and under. All participants will have a chance to learn skills from players and coaches. No pre registration is required and an autograph session with the players will follow. At 11 a.m. is the Green & White Classic and admission is free. Both the men's and women's teams will take part in a pair of 12-minute intrasquad games. There will also be performances by the Binghamton spirit squads and pep band. Promotional contests will also be held. Finally, at 1 p.m. is the annual Bearcat Club Tip-Off Luncheon. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet both the men's and women's basketball teams and a light lunch will be served. Members of the Bearcat Club, as well as non members, are welcome. There is no charge for Bearcat Club members and the cost for non-members is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children (5-12). Reservations for the Bearcat Club Tip-Off Luncheon are required.
