WOMEN'S
BASKETBALL Binghamton had four players in double figures in the game, led by senior center Sarah Cartmill (Ithaca), who scored all 15 of her points in the second half to finish with 15 points and seven rebounds. Senior forward Brooke Kelly (Oakhurst, N.J.) had 12 points and nine rebounds and teammate Leala Wegwerth (Maplewood, Minn.) had 12 points with six rebounds. Joi Jefferson (Bowie, Md.) had 15 points and eight rebounds to pace the Huskies, who trailed just 24-22 at the break. Binghamton scored the first six points of the second half and outscored Northeastern 23-7 in the first eight minutes of the second half to take control of the game with a 47-29 lead. Cartmill had 12 points during the run and Brooke Kelly had five. The Bearcats shot just 25 percent in the opening 20 minutes but took a 24-22 lead into the break. Leale Wegwerth and Kelly each had seven points at the half to lead the Bearcats. Binghamton returns to action on Thursday evening when they travel to Stony Brook for a conference matchup at 7:00 p.m. |
