St. Rose drops Binghamton women's basketball 69-59 in exhibition game

VESTAL, N.Y. --Junior center Lauren Revesz scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds as St. Rose defeated Binghamton 69-59 in a women's basketball exhibition on Friday night at the Events Center. The game marked the second of two preseason games for the host Bearcats.

Leading by seven at the break, St. Rose outscored the Bearcats 36-33 in the second half and pulled away for the win. Senior guards Mary Lewis and Courtney Ludwig each hit double-figures for the Golden Knights, finishing with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

For the Bearcats, junior center Laine Kurpniece (Riga Latvia) finished with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds while junior forward Juta Jahilo added 12 points and nine rebounds. Junior guard Laura Sario (Espoo, Finland) chipped in with 11 points and sophomore center Laura Franceski added nine rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

St. Rose dominated from beyond the arc, hitting on 8-of-17 tries while the Bearcats converted on only 1-of-7 attempts.

Binghamton opens the regular season on November 14 when it hosts defending Northeast champion Sacred Heart at 7 p.m.
