Binghamton women's basketball defeats St. Rose 90-55 in exhibition game
VESTAL, N.Y.-- Sophomore guard Erica Carter (Naperville, Ill.) drained a game-high 28 points, leading Binghamton to a 90-55 win over St. Rose in a women's basketball exhibition game on Tuesday night at the Events Center. The game marked the final action for both squads before the start of the regular season.
Carter, whose career high in regular-season games is 18 points, scored 20 of her points against the Golden Knights in the first half as the Bearcats took a 47-22 advantage at the break. She hit eight three-point shots for the game, which in a regular-season contest would have tied the school record set by Bess Greenberg against Yale on Jan. 2, 2001.
Senior center Laine Kurpniece (Riga, Lativa) and junior forward Laura Franceski (Moscow, Pa.) each added 12 points.
Elizabeth Buckley led St. Rose with 14 points. Emily Gottstein added 13 points and Kerri Revesz chipped in 10 points.
Binghamton opens its regular season at Portland State on Saturday at 10:05 p.m. EST.
