women's basketball defeats UMass 58-52
nets 16 points, Holmes adds 12 points and six assists

O'Reilly had a team-high 16 points and junior point guard
Andrea Holmes added 12 points and six
rebounds, leading Binghamton (5-4) to a 58-52 win over UMass
(1-9) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Saturdday
afternoon at the Mullins Center. The win marked the second straight
triumph for the Bearcats.
With 6:47 remaining, the score was tied at 43-43. From there,
however, the Bearcats went on a 12-5 run to go up 55-48 with
44 seconds left in regulation. Holmes had four points during
that span and O'Reilly capped the run by sinking a pair of free
O'Reilly had nine of her points in the opening 20 minutes as
the Bearcats took a 28-23 lead at the break. She sank three of
her five three-point attempts in the process.
Megan Zullo of UMass led all scorers with 17 points.
Binghamton travels to Mt. St. Mary's for a 3 p.m. game next Saturday.
NOTES: Holmes has averaged 6.5 assists in her past two
games ... O'Reilly has led the team in scoring twice in the past
