Binghamton women's lacrosse loses at Albany 24-3

Box Score

ALBANY, N.Y.-- Senior Christine Grueniger equaled a career-high with five goals, all in the first half to lead Albany to a 24-3 win over visiting Binghamton (0-8, 0-2 AE) in an America East conference women's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon at John Fallon Field.

The Great Danes jumped out to a 2-0 lead before junior attack
Ali Castiglie found the back of the net at the 23:50 mark in the first half. However the Albany defense would clamp down and the Great Dane offense put the game out of reach by halftime, building an 18-1 lead.

Castiglie led the Bearcats with two goals and junior midfielder Beth Moore added one goal and one assist.

Albany outshot Binghamton 39-13 including 28-6 in the pivotal first half.

Binghamton returns home for a non-conference game against Bucknell on Wednesday April 7 at 7 p.m.
