Binghamton women's lacrosse falls to visiting Colgate 15-8

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Senior Meghan Lawler scored four goals and added three assists to lead Colgate to a 15-8 win over Binghamton (0-7, 0-1 AE) in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Colgate started the game red-hot taking an 8-0 lead to start the game. Lawler scored three of her goals during that run. Sophomore attack
Lis Zuern scored the Bearcats first goal of the game at the 2:01 mark and junior attack Ali Castiglie quickly added another to cut into the Raiders lead. However, Colgate found the back of the net with 11 seconds on the clock to carry a 9-2 lead into the half.

Colgate began the second half with a three goal run before Castiglie would score with 23:45 left in the game. However the Raiders would keep peppering in goals and kept the Bearcats from stringing together a solid run.

Junior midfielder Beth Moore scored three goals in the second half and sophomore Leah Smith added a goal. For the game, Castigle scored three goals and added an assist.

Colgate converted 2-4 free position shots while Binghamton scored on one of nine attempts. Binghamton outshot the Raiders 31-27 including 17-14 in the first half.

Binghamton heads out on the road for an America East conference game against Albany on April 3rd at 1 p.m.
