Binghamton women's lacrosse loses 17-8 to LeMoyne

N.Y.-- Sophomore midfielder Brittany Brigandi and junior midfielder
Rebekah Elmer each scored a game-high four goals, leading LeMoyne
(5-3) to a 17-8 win over Binghamton (0-5) in a non-conference
women's lacrosse game on Tuesday night at the Bearcats Sports
Sports Complex. The loss marked the first game of a season-high,
three-game home stand for the Bearcats.
Brigandi scored all four of her goals in the first half as the
visiting Dolphins raced out to a 9-3 lead at the break. She also
added an assist during that span.
Elmer, meanwhile, scored twice in each half and added a pair
of assists. She scored twice in a span of 47 seconds as LeMoyne
went up 12-4 with 15:30 left in regulation.
From there, the Dolphins scored three of the next four goals
to take a 15-5 lead with 5:43 to go.
Junior midfielder Beth
Moore,
who led the Bearcats with three goals, converted a pair of free
possession shots in the final 2:26 of the game. Junior attack

Castiglie added
a goal in each half and tallied an assist.
LeMoyne outshot Binghamton 34-28. In the decisive first half,
the shot count was 21-8.
Binghamton opens its America East slate on Saturday as it hosts
Boston University at noon. |
