VESTAL, N.Y. -- Junior Molly Hastrich scored four goals to lead visiting St. Bonaventure to a 11-10 decision over Binghamton on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcat Sports Complex.
The score remained close for the entire first half, with five ties and four lead changes. Neither team was able to pull away and the Bearcats carried a 6-5 edge into halftime.
The Bonnies started the second half by scoring the first three goals to take a 8-6 advantage with 21:55 remaining. However, Binghamton rallied, scoring the next four goals to take a 10-8 lead with 8:16 left on the clock. St. Bonaventure finished strong by rattling off three in a row, including two by Hastrich to tie and win the game.
Sophomore Ali Castiglie led the Bearcats with three goals and three assists. Sophomore captain Beth Moore chipped in with two goals, while freshman Emily Thon scored two goals, picked up four ground balls and caused one turnover. Goalkeeper Lauren Scott had another strong effort with 13 saves.
Binghamton is back on the field when the Bearcats host Monmouth on Friday, March 13 at 4 p.m.
