Binghamton women's lacrosse defeated by UMBC 16-7

BALTIMORE, MD.--Kelly Fiorani scored a game-high five goals and tallied two assists, leading UMBC (4-9, 2-4 AE) to a 16-7 win over Binghamton (3-11, 0-5 AE) in an America East Conference women's lacrosse game on Sunday afternoon. The loss was the third straight setback for the Bearcats.

Fiorani scored three of her goals in the first half as the Retrievers took a 9-4 lead at the break. She scored her final two goals and had her two assists in the final 30 minutes of play. Kate Worthington and Anna Jacobs each added three goals for the Retrievers.

For Binghamton senior attack Laura Gabbamonte (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and sophomore Heather Grose (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) each scored twice. Grose netted both of her goals in the first half.

UMBC outshot Binghamton 43-22 for the game.

The Bearcats host Long Island on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
