Wrestling honored as Top 25 All-Academic Team

Binghamton University wrestling has achieved National Division I All-Academic status, as recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Coached by Mike Fusilli, the 2002-03 Bearcats earned a team grade-point average of 2.906 to rank 24th in the nation. Binghamton finished just ahead of Arizona State and Penn. Team rankings were compiled by taking the average GPA of each team's starting 10 wrestlers along with two backups who wrestled in at least one varsity match.

Individually, junior 184-pound Jerome Joe (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) earned honorable mention All-Academic honors. Joe, who went 16-6 overall, including an 11-3 dual mark, maintained a 3.47 GPA in computer science.
