Release: February 21, 2008 "It was a great win for our guys" head coach Pat Popolizio said. "Our focus is peaking at this time of the year. We also had a couple of big individual wins tonight." Sophomore 174-pound Josh Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) needed only 56 seconds to pin Jonathon Powell. Patterson moved to 14-2 in duals and picked up his fourth pin of the season. Senior heavyweight Mike Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) recorded his second pin of the season over Brooks Keefer in just 26 seconds to close out the scoring for Binghamton in the final weight class. Senior 149-pound Kyle Fried (Rock Hill, N.Y.), ranked 18th in the country, earned a major decision over Chris Clarke to improve to 16-1 in duals this season. Junior 157-pound Nate Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) earned a 13-0 major decision over Christopher Stout to increase his season dual record to 18-6. American's 197-pound Josh Glenn, a Johnson City native who is the defending national champion and is currently ranked No. 1 in the country, pinned Corey Waite (Nichols, N.Y.) 3:59 into the match. Binghamton concludes its dual meet season with a match at Buffalo on February 24. Notes: Binghamton seniors Fried and Mike Patterson were honored before the match as a part of "Senior Night" ... Nate Patterson now has 40 career dual wins, one shy of the school's D1 record set by 2003 graduate Joe Privitere ... the Bearcats' 13 dual wins are tied with 1973-74 squad for the second-highest dual wins in program history.
