Release: January 31, 2010 CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- Binghamton wrestling (11-6-1) rolled to a pair of lopsided wins over Ithaca (35-3) and Boston University (38-6) Sunday afternoon at Shenendehowa High School. The Bearcats won 17 of 20 matches. "I was very pleased with our performance today," head coach Pat Popolizio said. "Our guys wrestled well and while we expected to have success, it was great to see them step up their level and dominate the way they did." Senior 174-pound Josh Patterson, ranked 13th in the country, notched his team-best ninth pin of the season against Ithaca. Patterson is 20-5, 12-0 in duals. Against CAA foe Boston, Binghamton trailed 6-3 before rattling off seven straight match wins - including two by pin and another tech fall. Earlier in the day, BU used six decisions to pull away from an Ithaca team that is ranked No. 3 in the nation in Division III. Junior heavyweight Corey Waite picked up a pair of decisions to become the first Bearcat to the 30-win mark. Waite is 30-13, 12-5 in duals. Freshman 184-pound Nate Schiedel collected a decision and a forfeit win to improve to a team-best 15-2 in duals, 22-6 overall. Binghamton hosts Hofstra and Columbia on February 6 at West Gym.
