NWCA Release

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton wrestling has earned the highest academic honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The Bearcats were among the nation's top teams in overall GPA, earning All-Academic Team honors with a 3.01 average. That number ranked 17th in the country.

"Our team has been working extremely hard in the classroom to achieve
excellence," head coach Pat Popolizio said. "Finishing 17th in the country is a testament to the amount of hard work our student-athletes are putting into their studies and I'm proud of them."

Binghamton won 13 dual matches, placed fourth at the CAA Championship and crowned its first Division I All-American this past winter.
