Binghamton wrestling splits two matches at CAA Duals
Bearcats
lose to 12th-ranked Hofstra, beat Campbell
FAIRFAX,
Va. -- Binghamton wrestling (7-6) split its first two matches
at the two-day Cononial Athletic Association Duals, dropping
a 31-4 decision to 12th-ranked Hofstra (6-6) before handling
Campbell (0-8) 32-9 Friday night at the George Mason Fieldhouse.
Hofstra
won nine of the 10 bouts in the first session, and then BU turned
the tables against Campbell, winning eight of 10 matches.
Senior
149-pound Kyle Fried (Rock Hill, N.Y.)
was the Bearcats' lone double-winner. Fried, ranked 13th in the
nation, racked up 35 points in his two wins, posting a 20-7 major
decision against Hofstra and a 15-8 decision against Campbell.
Fried improved to 6-0 on the season.
Binghamton
will wrestle 22nd-ranked Old Dominion (11 a.m.) and Rider (3
p.m.) on Saturday.
