BU lends support for flood victims in Southern Tier

On September 11, the wrestling team spent nearly eight hours assisting flood victims in the Southern Tier. Three coaches and 10 wrestlers joined the Red Cross and National Guard in closing one emergency shelter and readying displaced individuals and families for transportation to a new shelter. The group loaded and unloaded donations at a local charity before heading out into the neighborhoods to help several individual families begin to clean up from the damage.

Bearcats hire top recruiter Beasley as head assistant coach

Former associate coach at Buffalo, Frank Beasley brings hefty resume to fold with strong recruiting ties and proven success on and off wrestling mat.

Beasley replaces head assistant Dennis Papadatos, who resigned to pursue other career interests after five noteworthy years at BU.

McGarity caps standout senior season with national academic honors

Senior 174-pound Ryan McGarity earns All-Academic distinction from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Graduate student and 2011 NCAA qualifier has a 3.46 GPA in pursuit of his MBA at Binghamton.

Bearcats wrap up impressive recruiting class for 2011-12

BU will welcome 17 recruits from seven different states, including six high school state champions, three All-Americans and a national champion.

Head coach Pat Popolizio's incoming class is among the nation's elite.

Schiedel and McGarity snare at-large bids, giving BU six NCAA qualifiers

Goeres, Kaylor, Lister, Vinson, McGarity and Schiedel give Bearcats a record-tying half-dozen headed to national championship.

A total of 33 wrestlers will compete in each of the 10 weight classes at the NCAA Championship, held March 17-19 at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center.
