Release: November 18, 2007 Binghamton sophomore 141-pound Anwar Goeres (Holley, N.Y.) pinned Nick Gallick in 1:54 in to earn the Bearcats' first team points of the match. Goeres had two takedowns and an escape before pinning Gillick, who is ranked 14th in the nation. Senior 149-pound Kyle Fried (Rock Hill, N.Y.) used a takedown in sudden death overtime to defeat No. 14 Mitch Mueller 6-4. Binghamton took a 9-6 lead in the match with Fried's victory and pushed it to 15-6 after an Iowa State forfeit at 157. The Cyclones then won the next five matches to claim the victory. "This was a great dual meet for our guys ... they really competed well," second year coach Pat Popolizio said. "The whole atmosphere was great. It was a huge statement for us to get a couple of individual wins against a ranked opponent." Iowa State is the defending Big 12 champions and national runnerup. Binghamton will next compete at the Northeast Duals November 25 in Albany. Match Results 125
