Binghamton wrestling drops final two matches at CAA Duals
Bearcats lose close match to #22 Old Dominion, also fall to Rider

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Binghamton wrestling (7-8) dropped its final two matches at the Cononial Athletic Association Duals Saturday at the George Mason Fieldhouse. The Bearcats were defeated by #22 Old Dominion 23-15 and Rider 28-13.

The Bearcats won four of the 10 bouts against nationally-ranked ODU, but a technical fall and two major decisions gave ODU key points.

Sophomore 174-pound Josh Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) and junior 157-pound Nate Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) each won two matches to pace the Bearcats. Josh, ranked 19th in the country, pinned both his opponents. He needed 3:45 to end his match against ODU and just 2:14 to close out the bout with Rider. Patterson raised his record to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in duals.

Nate earned a 2-0 decision against ODU and followed with a 12-6 win against Rider. He is now 16-9 overall, 11-4 in duals.

Binghamton returns home to host CAA foe George Mason on January 27.
