"It was two great matches for us," head coach Pat Popolizio said. "The guys worked on some areas that they needed to improve on which will help us at the end of the year."
Sophomore 141-pound Anwar Goeres (Holley, N.Y.) improved to 7-0 on the season with a pin over Jeff Kirchick of Princeton in 1:24 and a major decision over James Beshada of the USMMA.
Sophomore 174-pound Josh Patterson (Wayne, N.Y.), who is ranked 15th in the nation, won both of his matches via the technical fall and is now 6-0 on the year.
Binghamton earned seven decisions over the USMMA including a pin by sophomore Ryan McGarity (Gibsonia, Pa.) at 149 pounds over Brandon LaDick with only 26 seconds remaining in the third period. The decision was McGarity's first win of his career.
