PRINCETON, N.J. -- Binghamton wrestling notched wins over Liberty and host Princeton Friday night from Dillon Gym. The Bearcats (5-2) opened with a 25-13 win over the Flames (4-3) before handling the host Tigers (0-2) 27-11 in the evening's final match.
In the Liberty match, BU dropped the first two bouts and the last two but won everything in-between. The Bearcats used two technical falls and three major decisions to rack up the points.
After Princeton toppled Liberty, BU took on the Tigers and promptly fell behind 11-0 after losing the first three matches. But the Bearcats won the final seven bouts - with a technical fall, major decision and forfeit among the victories.
Sophomore No. 14 Nate Schiedel won his two matches to improve to 11-3 overall, 5-1 in duals. He rolled to a technical fall over his Liberty opponent before posting an 11-0 major decision against Princeton.
Sophomore 149-pound Donnie Vinson produced a major decision against Liberty and a technical fall win over Princeton. Vinson raised his record to 7-0 in duals, 10-2 overall.
Binghamton next competes at the Penn State Nittany Open on Sunday.
