BU wrestling knocks off Sacred Heart 31-18 for third straight win
Patterson sets school record with 18th pin of season

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Host Binghamton (12-12) defeated Sacred Heart (5-8) 31-18 Wednesday night from West Gym. The Bearcats won six of the 10 bouts - including three by pin - to record their third straight victory.

Junior 184-pound Josh Patterson, ranked No. 8 in the country by USA Today/Intermat, broke the school record for pins in a season with his 18th fall. Patterson needed just 1:09 to end his match against Brandon Lapp, raising his record to 35-4 overall, 21-2 in duals.

Senior 157-pound Nate Patterson steamrolled Jonathon Rizzitello, earning a first-period pin in 2:34. Sophomore 125-pound Tyler Malmberg also earned a pin in his match.

Binghamton heads to Stillwater, Okla. on Sunday to face the 15th-ranked Cowboys and Wyoming in a tri-match.
