BU women's soccer seniors Povill, Reed earn academic honors
Pair are recognized by NSCAA as All-East Region scholars

NSCAA Academic Teams

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton women's soccer seniors Kim Povill (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Tricia Reed (Oswego, N.Y.) have been selected to the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-East Region teams. Povill earned third-team honors and Reed was an honorable mention choice. In addition, the entire BU women's team received a NSCAA Team Academic Award for maintaining a 3.16 GPA for the 2006-07 academic year.

"I'm incredibly proud of Kim and Tricia for being honored as great student- athletes," head coach Jeff Leightman said. "Their recognition is well deserved and demonstrates our program's commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom."

Povill, a second-team America East all-star, led the conference with eight assists this fall. She also had four goals, including one game-winner. Povill was one of 11 student-athletes selected to the All-Academic Team. She has a 3.32 GPA in sociology.

Reed, a two-time all-conference midfielder, had four goals and one assist in her final campaign. She has a 3.3 GPA in psychology.
